This mixed-use project sits on 10.6 acres and includes 260 market-rate apartments and 140,000 s.f. of retail space. The retail center’s design helps to provide a fresh feel to downtown Alhambra with its modern sharp lines and an array of materials and aesthetic features, including wood, metals, ambient lighting and lush landscaping. The apartment homes are four-story, Type V buildings in a wrap-configuration surrounding a five-story parking structure. The multiple unit layouts in the apartment complex provide residents with a variety of options to fit their needs. These include studios and one-, two- and three-bedroom layouts. In addition to offering luxury amenities, the complex also provides a special atmosphere with its appealing design. The classic brownstone features with well-defined cornices, Jeffersonian arched entryways, and lush landscaping all contribute to complex’s inviting feel.
The redevelopment included 80,000 s.f. of existing building renovation and the construction of several one and two-story, Type V retail buildings. This required adding 41,000 s.f. of space, a remodel of a former Mervyns, the complete demolition and reconstruction of an additional building, and the relocation of a bank. A Type II-B parking structure was included in the scope to accommodate residents and contains 588 parking spaces.
