SERVICE LINE: Snyder Langston

Snyder Langston provided preconstruction and construction services for Concordia University’s new Music, Worship and Theology building. The project includes a new 38,533 g.s.f. Type II-B sprinklered building with a two- and three-level steel structure – in two wings, under a single roof, as well as the renovation and expansion of the existing Concordia University Center. The three level Music wing is designed to a high level of acoustical isolation for its three major rehearsal spaces – an Orchestra Hall, a Choir Hall and a “live” Recording Studio.

The construction of these spaces included double wall and roof construction – ‘room-in-room’ concept – with isolated floors, walls and ceilings. The steel braced frame structure is separated and isolated from the adjoining classroom wing. The scope of work also included site development associated with the two buildings and a new campus “Arts Court,” a quad-like space located between the new building and the existing campus Library, Arts and Theater Building (LAT).
