SERVICE LINE: Snyder Langston

The project involved the renovation of a 7,320 s.f. existing two-story building and construction of two new two-story buildings. The new Sailing Building, approximately 7,900 s.f., provides additional classrooms, bunkhouse and offices. The new Rowing Building, approximately 7,265 s.f., serves as the Chapman University Collegiate Rowing Center.

The design elements include metal roofing, lap siding, steel railings, and a deck that connects both the existing and new Sailing Building, which is supported by canted concrete columns with a decorative steel canopy above.

The construction challenge was the close proximity of Orange Coast College Rowing building that required shoring using underpinning piles, as well as seawall repairs and modifications.

Snyder Langston also provided pre-construction services to aid in establishing the project budget, assist with managing design development, provide value engineering recommendations for the best use of thebudget and develop both logistics and construction schedules.
