SERVICE LINE: Snyder Langston

Snyder Langston partnered with the City of Long Beach to redevelop the city’s 50-year-old original administrative and vehicle maintenance facilities. Snyder Langston provided real estate, design and construction services for the new 20-acre facility that accommodates three of the City’s largest public works agencies, including: Fleet Services, Integrated Resources Bureau and Towing & Lien Sales. These public works agencies provide services including vehicle maintenance, recycling, solid waste refuse and vehicle sales operations to City of Long Beach residents.

A major component of this project involved the relocation of the existing agency operations during the construction phase. Snyder Langston provided the client with a wide range of relocation services including site selection, leasing, planning and move management for approximately 400 city employees.

In effect, the plan that was developed involved a timely, yet flexible, relocation strategy that was completed for the City within 45 days. Relocating three separate user groups, each with its own set of unique requirements, Snyder Langston successfully managed the needs and desires of each agency.

Snyder Langston effectively guided the design process to reflect the client’s primary concerns; a) function; b) long-term durability; c) employee comfort and efficiency; and d) future flexibility.
